The
Libsong International Association (LIA) is
a nonprofit corporation duly organized under the laws
of the State of South Carolina on May 3rd, 2002. This
nonprofit corporation was founded last December 18,2000
by Frank and Lydia Bautista of Goose Creek, South
Carolina. Unique and interesting in a sense that while
members are residing in different places around the
world they become united for a common objective through
the Internet and correspondence. Its members are present
residents of Libsong and those former residents who
several years ago left its beloved barrio in search
for a better life and opportunities abroad. LIA was
formed to undertake projects beneficial to the school
children in Libsong and the community as well.
Libsong
is located in the beautiful and scenic town of Lingayen,
the capital of the Province of Pangasinan. On the
south, it is bounded by barrio Tonton; on the east
by the town of Binmaley; on the west by Lingayen Poblacion
and on the north the sandy beach of the famous Lingayen
Gulf where General Douglas McArthur landed during
the World War II. Libsong has a big land area and
as population increased, the Barrio Council had it
sub-divided into two barrios known today as Libsong
East and Libsong West.
LIA's
purpose is to spread goodwill and establish an outreach
program that will provide voluntary assistance and
support to the Libsong Elementary School and the Libsong
community in general.
